PRR Decapod Model

The 2-10-0 (Decapod) locomotive was more common in Europe than in America, but the Pennsylvania Railroad had almost 600 Decapods in its fleet. The PRR I1s class was built from 1916 to 1923, some by Altoona and some by Baldwin. The "Hippo" was very powerful thanks to its large boiler, but it was also prone to slipping, and worked best at very low speeds. The PRR modified the Decapods, and re-classed them as I1sa. Only one of these big engines survives, though I am not sure where it is at the moment, and this scale model is on display at the Altoona Railroaders Memorial Museum.
