Yokohama Chinatown East Gate

Ever since Yokohama was established in 1859, there has been a large Chinatown in the eastern part of the city, and today it is the largest Chinatown in Japan.  The East Gate, a traditionally styled paifang with the word CHINATOWN written right to left, is the closest to Yamashita Park and Hikawa Maru.  It is surrounded by a SEGA arcade and the Peking Restaurant and Bar, whose sign features the Temple of Heaven.
