USAAF De Havilland DH.89 Dominie

The De Havilland DH.89 Dragon Rapide was a popular lightweight airliner that was adapted into the Dominie military transport.  During World War II, the British Royal Air Force (RAF) turned six aircraft over to the U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF).  In service with the 8th Air Force, these transports kept their RAF numbers.  Dragon Rapide NR695 was built for the RAF, sold to India after WWII, and then sold to a private owner in the USA.  It was donated to the National Museum of the United States Air Force (Wright-Patterson AFB, Dayton, Ohio) and modified to resemble a USAAF Dominie.
