Happy St. Patrick's Day! I haven't been to Ireland yet, but I have seen a locomotive that worked there: Talyllyn Railway 0-4-2 tank engine No. 7 Tom Rolt, which was built by Andrew Barclay in 1949 for the Irish Peat Board and rebuilt by the TR Pendre Works in 1991. It was named for L.T.C. Rolt, the first head of the Talyllyn Railway Preservation Society. At the end of one day's visit to Tywyn Wharf Station, I saw Tom Rolt getting washed by its driver, who was wearing a green shirt to match the locomotive.
