Description
This sculpture of the first Keihin Line (Tokyo-Yokohama) train forms part of a memorial outside Shimbashi Station. The sculpture is a fairly accurate replica of Vulcan Foundry 2-4-0 tank engine No. 1, which is preserved at the Saitama Railway Museum, pulling two coaches. I assume the inscription on the plinth is meant to be read right to left, but I can only understand the characters "tetsudo" (railway).
