Description

Around the time the Tokaido Shinkansen inaugurated Tokyo-Osaka service in 1964, this tinplate toy of a Series 0 bullet train car was sold to children.  Since then, the Shinkansen has been a popular subject for children's toys, some more accurate than others.  The colors and proportions may be a bit off on this one, but it captures the general spirit of the train.  It is on display at the Saitama Railway Museum.
