Description

Boadicea (also spelled Boudica, Boudicca, etc.) was the queen of the Iceni, and the leader of a British rebellion against the Roman Empire around AD 60.  During the Victorian era, Thomas Thornycroft created this sculpture, now at the northwest corner of Westminster Bridge, of Boadicea and her daughters riding a war chariot against the Roman legions.  Doubtless some pundits have noted that the chariot seems to be charging straight at the Houses of Parliament.
