Description
In 1987, the Soviet Union and the United States of America decided to reduce international tension by signing the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty, which prohibited missiles with ranges of 500 to 5500 kilometers. Two of the prohibited missiles, a Soviet RSD-10 Pioneer (SS-20 Saber) and American Pershing II, are on display at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum. Despite the vast difference in size, the missiles have the same yield: 450 kilotons.

The SS-20 had three warheads instead of one, and three times the range.
