Description
"Carbon" was a 0-8-0 steam engine built by Baldwin in 1857 for the North Pennsylvania Railroad. For this engine with a long wheelbase, Baldwin developed the "flexible beam," meaning that the frame was made of two frames, and the front pair of axles could move sideways on a curve. This scale model is in the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Museum.
