Description
In the mid-1950s, Calspan SRL Corporation (Buffalo, New York) converted some Lockheed T-33 Shooting Star trainers into NT-33A special test planes. For 40 years, the NT-33A tested flight control systems in ways even the most advanced simulators could not. After its retirement in 1997, the NT-33A was put on display at the National Museum of the United States Air Force (Wright-Patterson AFB, Dayton, Ohio). If any of you are flying planes right now, consider that your aircraft may have been influenced by the NT-33A.
