LSWR Coat of Arms in Waterloo

The coat of arms of the London and Southwestern Railway (LSWR) was, like many other railway arms, a combination of the arms of various cities served by the railway.  For the LSWR, the cities were London, Southampton, Portsmouth, Winchester, and Salisbury.  However, the LSWR actually did not have the right to use any of these arms, and could not receive a valid "grant of arms."  The LSWR coat of arms remains on display in several stations, namely London Waterloo terminus, where it appears on a stained-glass window.
