July 1972 Ms Magazine - Wonder Woman for President

In July 1972, around the time of the thirtieth anniversary of Wonder Woman entering publication, Ms. Magazine put the Amazon warrior princess on the cover with the headline "Wonder Woman for President."  A giantess-sized Wonder Woman stands between the Vietnam War and an American city with the slogan "Peace and Justice in '72."  Later that year, Richard Nixon would be reelected, beating George McGovern, though soon he would be undone by the Watergate scandal.  This magazine cover is now displayed at the Smithsonian National Museum of American History in Washington, D.C.
