Description

Compared to the Shay and Climax, the Heisler was the fastest type of geared locomotive, and was in production from 1891 to 1941.  No. 4 was built in 1918 for the Chicago Mill and Lumber Company, and is now on display at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania in Strasburg.  According to the museum, it weighs 53 tons, and was the museum's first locomotive.
