Description

What a difference thirty-five years can make in locomotive design! GWR 3717 "City of Truro" was built in 1903 as one of the last engines with 19th-century inside cylinders and outside frames. LMS 6229 "Duchess of Hamilton" was built in 1938 as a modern streamlined Pacific from the height of the Art Deco era. At Railfest 2012, City of Truro and its tourist train passed the stationary Duchess of Hamilton.

This angle really brings out the irregularities in the track.
