Hama Soba

Description

Noodle bars, typically selling soba and udon, are common at major Japanese railway stations, where travellers can grab a quick lunch or dinner before jumping on the train.  Hama Soba on the JR Yokohama Line platform at the Shin-Yokohama Shinkansen station was a bit larger and more elaborate than most railway-station noodle bars, as it is enclosed with a counter going around the interior.  According to the sign, it sells soba, udon, and some kind of soba with a kanji I cannot identify.  Is that yaki-soba?

This shows Hama soba. I guess it originates 'Yokohama Soba'. The kanji 濱(Hama) is the old style of 浜(Hama).
