Canadian Pacific Jubilee 2929

Description

The 4-4-4 is a relatively rare class of steam locomotive designed for light, fast passenger service. Canadian Pacific developed a 4-4-4 class, designated F1. The Canadian Locomotive Company supplied twenty examples from 1937 to 1938, and the type was nicknamed "Jubilee." There was little to celebrate about these engines, though, as they proved too weak for intercity express service and were demoted to secondary trains. Only two of the "Jubilee" engines survive, one in Quebec and a very rusty No. 2929 in Steamtown National Park, Scranton, Pennsylvania.
