Description

This interwar Boeing biplane fighter at the Planes of Fame Air Museum (Chino, California) is painted as a U.S. Navy F4B-1 carrier-based fighter, but it is actually a U.S. Army Air Corps P-12E.  Most of these planes were retired before World War II, by which time even its replacements such as the P-26 Peashooter had been replaced in turn, but Brazil retired its last P-12 in 1949.  China, Japan, the Philippines, Spain, and Thailand also flew P-12 fighters.
