Description

This AFV Club 1/35 scale model of a World War II-era German Sd.Kfz. 251/9 Ausf. C "Stummel" half-track was exhibited at the 2015 Shizuoka Hobby Show in Shizuoka, Japan.  The Stummel differed from the baseline "Hanomag" armored half-track with its main weapon, a low-velocity 75mm gun that turned it into a self-propelled artillery piece.  The open top improved visibility and access for onboard panzergrenadier troops, but it also made them vulnerable to enemy grenades, Molotov cocktails, and air raids.
