1963 Chevrolet Impala Sedan

After the 1959 economic recession, American automobile companies filed down the tailfins and took off the chrome, introducing more restrained and practical cars for the 1960s.  A good example is this 1963 Chevrolet Impala sedan on display at the Virginia Museum of Transportation in Roanoke.  With a 195-horsepower V-8 engine, it performed quite well for a car its size.  Over 2.2 million Impalas were sold, making it a success for General Motors.  Fans of the TV show Supernatural might recognize this as the predecessor to the Winchester brothers' car.
